With its new location at Northgate, Tomatina will have six restaurants in Northern California, from Berkeley to Walnut Creek and now San Rafael. Chef Michael Chiarello, founder of Tomatina and former chef at Tra Vigne in St. Helena, focused his homegrown concept on homemade Italian dishes, from pizza with fresh sauces and artisan cheeses to fresh salads with homemade dressings.
